I rented a studio (juventutis) from vercammen residential projects for a period of 3 years.
First of all I want to start with the positive.
The studios that Vercammen rents out residential projects are in excellent condition. Sustainable and high-quality materials are used. Each student studio also has its own kitchen and bathroom. If something is broken, they will also respond professionally and they will do their best to solve it asap. There is a permanent concierge Eddy present who thoroughly cleans and maintains the common parts of the studio every week. If there are small problems with the studio, you can always contact him for a solution.
However, during my stay of 3 years I also experienced some negative things.
First of all, I would like to emphasize that the internet (included in the rental price) is incredibly fast. And can easily provide all students with a stable connection. However, this connection regularly fell out during the last year. This was a big problem for many of us during corona time / online class.
Secondly, I noticed that everything that can be charged to the tenant is also charged. An example of this is the lock on the common front door. This has been defective for a while as it is used practically daily by all 36 tenants. Wear and tear seems logical to me over time. Yet they pass on these kinds of costs to the tenant. A few months before departure, a list will also be sent with the costs that will be settled for cleaning up every part in the studio (even removing the hair from the shower drains). Of course, these costs should only be incurred if it is reported that the own cleaning was not in order. Damaged furniture will be charged for the entire piece of furniture. In the meantime, the departure has been completed together with the Concierge Eddy and Maxime and it went without any problems! The cabin was fine!
Of course, things like an internet connection that doesn't work or other issues of this type are unavoidable. And they are doing their best to solve them.
