First of all I had a great year in Costa Rica and the local organization was so nice. But ICJA on the other hand was the opposite of treading nice. As soon as you need something from ICJA you can expect an answer maybe after 2 weeks. In my case I haven't received an answer until today to an email where I told them that I will leave 1 month before the actual date.
Also if you are not able to attend to the seminar because of Abiball, University, Graduation etc they will still make you come to the seminar. Quite a lot of my the volunteers of my year decided against going with ICJA in the last minute or decided to not do the full time because of the organization. Also the way they communicated with us was often toxic they threaded us with cost which we might have to cover without telling us which ones and stuff like that. If you are looking for an organization which actually helps you and understands that you are still young and that the volunteer year is not the center of the earth than you are better of with a different organization.
